I Confess I’ve Never Read Tolstoy, but…

I want to do so now. I came across this quote by Leo Tolstoy:

 

“A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one’s neighbor — such is my idea of happiness.”

That is my idea of happiness, too. In fact, I’ve written it a number of times over the years, in my journal and in fiction. The quote makes me know that I must read the book, Family Happiness. It is available on Kindle here.
