Do you have something to do today that you don’t want to do? Maybe a bunch of small things common as flies. Maybe you have one big thing that is really crucial and desperate. If it is one of those desperate things, I’m sorry, and immediately I am humbled, because the thing I don’t want to do is nothing more than it doesn’t fit in with my own plans.
It occurs to me that small or large, the things that we don’t want to do are things that do not in any way fit in with our plans.
People don’t speak much about honor and responsibility anymore. In writing this, I realize how much those two attitudes have contributed to my happiness.

Dear God, strengthen me for your purpose. That’s the best I can pray at this moment, and I rest in trust that it is enough. Amen. So it is.
I already had help for this day, because on awakening, the song It’s a Good Day popped into my mind. The things that pop into my mind upon first awakening are fascinating. I love Swing, but I have not heard this song in forever.
