I don’t know if you need this, but I sure do. My normal lovely Monday has somehow gone all haywire-flooey. Don’t you just love that combination of words: haywire-flooey? Somehow saying it lightens me. I’ve felt run over flat by so many things to do piling up on me– and the writing I had planned gets pushed and shoved further away. Then I write haywire-flooey, a very old saying heard from my grandmother, and I begin to pick myself up.
So then–Starting Monday out right…

Dear God, I listen and trust that even my small everyday steps are divinely directed, one step at a time. After all, I was provided with haywire-flooey. I am provided for every step of the way. Thank you. Amen.

There now, Monday is being set on track. Well, maybe it remains a little haywire-flooey, but we meet what is sent, and with a good presence.

I love your “Haywire-Flooey”. I am sure that it will creep into my head one day when I least expect it! It must have been quite a Monday for a lot of people, as I read on another post by someone today, ” God makes our plans….We just have to relax and be willing to re-arrange and go with Him. Very true words indeed!

Yes, Carolyn, I figured out early that the day was going to be one of those quirky, could-be-frustrating days, but the phrase “let go or get dragged” came to mind each time a glitch came up, so I just relaxed. This attitude is getting a lot easier with practice. 🙂

I love the phrase haywire-flooey. It reminds me of a phrase one of my friends taught to me. That phrase is “Puffle-brain” (poofflebrain) which is used when you think something is ‘nonsense’ it is an in phrase for her family and by telling me about it, she was admitting me to her inner circle. 🙂 I love saying ‘awww puffle-brain’ when I encounter something I think is nonsensical.
