Monday, and anything can be

Pitch dark when I stepped out on the porch this morning. Warm and sultry–still ‘barefootin’ weather– but with a hint of cooling fall. Breezes come far up in the tall pecan trees. They come like a wave, like groups of angels flying along, gently brushing and stirring the leaves at the tops of the trees. I get bits of breeze on my bare toes, like left overs treats. The crickets are singing their chorus, the courtyard ponds bubbling theirs, a bird giving a hesitant twitter, and oh, there’s that “Twit-Twit” bird. It’s pretty darn noisy. My world at this moment, with me here, a computer on my lap. What a hoot!

It’s Monday, and I love Monday. I’m always rested and ready for doing. Monday is a doing day. I think on Monday that I have energy to dream, to leave regrets behind, and fears, and to step out with hope and faith in all I want to do. I think it would be helpful to remember Monday all through the week, and believe so much is possible.

Ohmygosh, I just looked up beyond the pecan tree, and there is blue sky, with pale pink fluffy clouds. Maybe this Monday it will be clear skies, and I can get mowing done. And a full chapter written in my book project. Monday marks the beginning of a week, and anything is possible in the days ahead. A good day for making goals.

God bless us all!

“Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.” ~Shel Silverstein

  1. I need to take a page from your book, and learn to embrace the mornings that you so beautifully describe. I am not up before daylight, nor do I head outside to allow the world to say good morning. When I open my eyes around 7:30 my feet hit the floor “doing.” Not sure what is so important that can’t wait until I have taken time to greet the world and all of God’s work that brings such calming peace and beauty. Maybe tomorrow I will set the alarm and do it. Maybe!

    • Remember, girl friend, that God made us all different. Something in me has always loved mornings, and now that I’m not exhausted from celiac disease every day of my life, I am awake naturally. I do, however, set my alarm in self-care, because I simply must have tea and quiet before Little Dude hits my door. 🙂 However, as a morning person, I done by 12 noon and want a nap!
