There are our new chicks here, a new foal in the pasture next door, and three new tiny goats at the house down the road. The paperwhites are all but done, the green peas have come up, and the star magnolia is blooming. All say spring, and here comes winter with a last stab. For the next too nights temperatures are expected to drop into the 20s. Do you believe it? We have a fire roaring in the fireplace! DH and I covered a few prize plants with sheets. They blow in the breeze and look like animated ghosts, and possibly that idiots live in this house. Still, we hope.
This, too, shall pass. It always does.

Here in central OK, we are getting our first snow storm of the winter. Looks like about a couple of inches on the ground so far. It’s supposed to be over by about noon tomorrow, so won’t be around for long. I noticed the daffodils are coming up, so they’ll probably get their blooms frozen.

I so hope your daffodils are not frozen. Sometimes the wet snow does not harm. Thanks for reminding me to check out a couple I saw yesterday starting to open. Last night did not get as cold as expected. xxxooo

CA, you are SO funny. I hope your efforts save your flowers. I’m sure you have heat lamps for the chicks.

Just found your blog. My two adult children and I all have celiac, dx 1-2 years ago.
We are thinking about chickens, so I am delighted to find your blog.
Please, please, please keep us informed on how the feed is going. We are just in the reading/planning phase, looking at coops and runs.
Deciding what to do about the gluten free feed is going to be critical. Nice to have someone going “first” who is willing to share their journey. Thanks!
